Other tools have emerged to challenge the utility of the pen as a writing instrument but it remains essential. The technical development of pens never ceases: ink and the process of delivering it onto paper continues to challenge curious minds. The core factors in written communication, pen, ink and paper, are constantly changing; the pen being the key device.
